MAKING A POSITIVE IMPACT
Authentic Indonesia fights to run its business along ethical lines, embracing the 3 pillars of sustainability. By partnering with a wide range of locals, we seek to maximise the positive benefits received by local communities.
Our sustainable policy details our commitments to deliver our services in a responsible manner, while providing qualitative and authentic travel packages to our customers. Additionally, Authentic Indonesia is committed in developing and operating our travel services in a sustainable manner and being part of a sustainable tourism approach.
TRAVELIFE PARTNER CERTIFICATION
K.B.A Tur, the parent company of Authentic Indonesia, has received the Travelife Partner Certification in 2018, based on a sustainability report and in compliance with basic requirements assessed by Travelife. This certification is the second stage, out of three, in the Travelife certification process.
Travelife, which has been established with the support of the European Commission, is the leading international sustainability certification initiative in the travel sector for tourism companies committed to reach sustainability.
K.B.A TUR is the 11th company in Indonesia to have reached the Travelife Partner certification.
This certification attests that K.B.A Tur complies with more than 100 criteria, related to the office management but more broadly related to the relationship of the company with the society and its environment. The Travelife criteria cover the ISO 26000 standards guidance, formally recognised as being in full compliance with the United Nations’ Global Sustainable Tourism Criteria.
GIVE A LOCAL RESPONSE TO GLOBAL PROBLEMS
To make our commitments last in time, we decided to provide reusable bags made from palm leaves and gourds to avoid daily use of plastic and we decided to join frequently beach clean-ups to preserve Indonesian beauty.
If we want to keep our charming archipelago accessible for travellers, it is our role, as a local travel agency, to support the environment preservation.

DEVELOP COMMUNITY-BASED TOURISM
Thanks to community-based tourism projects, our customers can immerse in unique experiences while generating revenue and improve welfare in remote and impoverished communities of Indonesia.
As an example, we are proud to support a local orphanage in Bali, named Gurukula Foundation, where our customers can live authentic experiences.
We have also designed authentic activities with some of our employees’ family to make travellers discover the authentic side of Indonesia.
BE SOCIALLY COMMITTED
Indonesia is a fascinating and exciting place for the boundless opportunities of cultural exchange. To experience this, we have worked hard to integrate immersive and mutually beneficial cultural experiences in our tours.
For the most enriching experiences possible, we always encourage our customers to keep an open mind and respect local cultures and traditions which vary substantially across the islands.
Finally, our sustainability policy also describes the measures in favour of our employees, as for example health measures including health insurance and pension plan established for our permanent staff.
