Trekking at Padar Island

Padar Island is the third largest island in the Komodo National Park area after the islands of Komodo and Rinca. Padar is also accepted as a Cultural Heritage Site by UNESCO because it is stand in same location with Komodo National Park along with Komodo Island, Rinca Island and Gili Motang. Among travelers, Padar Island is popularly known as Gili Padar. It is indeed amazingly beautiful.

Padar Island is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Flores. This island has an extraordinary attraction because of the stunning scenery from the hills. This place has always been a spot for trekking and selfies with the beautiful scenery as the background. Travelers will not find any buildings at Padar. That is because this island is not inhabited. Just remember to bring your own food and drink when you come to this place.

Around Padar Island there are also three or four small beautiful islands that can also be explored. Other then trekking traveler can do snorkeling activities, sunbathing as well as play water on the beautiful beach. If you want to see the true beauty of Padar Island then you have to climb first the hill for about 20 minutes and from the height you can see clearly that the beach panorama is separated into three parts. It is easy to get to Padar Island from neighboring Labuan Bajo and you can trek all over the island on a variety of trails.

 

Usually travelers rise to the top of the hill in the morning to catch up the sunrise and in the afternoon to see the sunset. Both of them have are very beautiful and charming.
