Spiritual Journey to Bali and Gili Air

Trip Itinerary

Day 1: Denpasar - Ubud

You will arrive at the airport of Denpasar, and will be greeted by our guide who will be accompanied by a pretty Balinese to offer you a typical Balinese welcome by offering you a pretty necklace of flowers. Then take the road direction Ubud which will take a little close to 1h30. Arrive at Ubud, installation in your hotel and free program.

Day 2: Ubud - Purification - Temple of Sebatu - Ubud Market - Evening Market (B, L, D)

Departure from your hotel in Ubud around 08:30, to go to the village of Sebatu. Your visit will begin with a trekking tour from a flat rice field, where you will discover the real traditional Balinese irrigation system.

 

During this hike, you will see the Temple of Agriculture located in the middle of rice fields and your walk will guide you to a beautiful viewpoint overlooking the valley of the river. You will walk around the valley until the rainforest.

 

After 2 hours of trekking, you will arrive in a local village where Balinese cake and fresh coconut water will be served! After this refreshment, you will continue your trekking towards the source of holy water of the village, where you can do a “Purification of your soul and your body” while taking a bath in the holy water which according to the spiritual belief of Balinese Hindu serves to eliminate the negative power of our soul. (Take bath using traditional Balinese clothing and a simple offering will be provided).

 

After the purification, you will be escorted to visit the Sebatu Temple which is beautifully decorated and has many fish pools. Lastly you will visit the grandiose ceking rice terrace at Tegalalang. Return to your hotel and free program.

 

Evening: CULINARY EXPLORATION IN THE GIANYAR NIGHT MARKET (SENGGOL).

 

Departure from your hotel around 16.00 towards the Gianyar night market (Pasar Senggol, 20 minutes). This market is specifically known for its food of all kinds. You can taste what you want like ayam betutu (chicken grill), lalapan (chicken or fried fish), nasi campur (rice with vegetables and many side dishes, nasi goreng (fried rice) Babi Guling (pork) and many types of Balinese cakes such as klepon, laklak, sumping, bantal and others.

 

In this market you can also find many other sellers of children’s toys, offerings (canang sari) and clothing. And feel the real atmosphere of the local population. Return to your hotel, dinner and overnight at the hotel.

Day 3: Ubud - Lovina (B, L)

Start your tour with Breakfast at the hotel, then at 09:00, our guide will accompany you for a full day of sightseeing, then drive to the rice paddies of Jatiluwih which are considered a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. Your lunch will be served in a local restaurant.

 

After lunch continue the visit to Batukaru Temple, a magnificent temple located in the middle of the rainforest. Then continue your day by visiting the Ulundanu Temple, this temple is located in the middle of beautiful Lake Bedugul.

 

According to legends, this temple is dedicated to Gods Dewi Danu, who represents the traditional agricultural organization (Subak) and honors the irrigation system. After the visit, continue towards Lovina for check-in at your hotel.

Day 4: Lovina - Tamblingan Trekking (B, L)

Join a 2.5 hours trekking near Tamblingan Lake to discover; a small tropical plantation provided with tropical trees, a plantation of cloves and a coffee plantation. You will see in the distance the temple of the lake and thus cross the lake in small traditional boat (with paddle).

 

The total trip will be about 3 hours, a short trip that will show you a different part of the island. After this freshness of the mountains, visit the hot springs of the village which are in the middle of the jungle in a beautifully landscaped tropical garden that is composed of three public swimming pools and a private swimming pool.

 

The sulfuric water is of volcanic origin, the temperature is warmly pleasant (37 degrees Celsius, ideal for people suffering from rheumatism). The last visit of the day will take place at the Buddhist monastery of Bali located in Tegehe Village. Perched on a hill, the Brahmavira Arama Buddhist temple majestically overlooks the sea, with the verdant hill as its backdrop. Return to your hotel in Lovina in the afternoon.

Day 5: Lovina - Bangli (Meeting with a Hindu Priest and Visit Kintamani Volcano) (B, L, D)

Departure from your hotel for 08:30, direct meeting in the traditional house of a Balinese Hindu Priest, in Singaraja – North Bali. Here is where you can discover about the Veda philosophy and exchange on the discovery of Balinese traditional and spiritual rituals.

 

After lunch continue the trip to Bangli with a stop on the way to Kintamani. Kintamani will make you discover the beautiful landscape of Mount Batur and its lake. Arrival in Bangli, you will stay in a real Balinese house that will make you feel the unique atmosphere of Bali.

Day 6: Bangli - Farm, Kitchen & Balinese Dance (B, L, D)

Today is a day of discovery of the small village of Bangli.

 

The First Activities:

 

Visit of the school, farm and trek in the middle of the rice fields. Visit Balinese School, farm, walk through the rice fields. The visit will start through the village primary school where you will be able to discover the educational system of Indonesia.

 

Walk 15 minutes to the heart of the local houses and the village, to reach the rice paddy area where you can explore and feel the true farming life of traditional Balinese farmers. The first step is to plow the rice field by a traditional tool pulled by a pair of buffalo (old method now replace by tractors) in order to plant the rice seed that requires a balanced movement for success.

 

Enjoy fresh water of coconut palms and have lunch in the hut among the rice fields. You will walk through the rice fields for an hour, passing through a small valley where you will perceive the different plantations of fruit and wild flowers. The trek will end in the village temple called Dalem Temple.

 

The Following Activities:

 

Balinese Cooking Contest: Making Fish Satay (SATE).

 

Preparation of Balinese offerings. You will then visit a Balinese resort to join a typical Balinese activity such as making offerings for ceremonies and a visit to a traditional jewelry manufacturer for dancers and future brides. Visit the temple of Besakih: In the afternoon you will make a short visit to the temple of Besakih, it is the largest temple in Bali, located on the slopes of Mount Agung. Dinner with Balinese dance performance: In the evening, enjoy your dinner accompanied by a beautiful Balinese dance, enjoy an hour of entertainment.

Day 7: Bangli - Gili Air Island (B)

Breakfast in your Balinese home then departure from your hotel to the port of Padang Bay to take off to the island of Gili Air located in Lombok. From your arrival on the island promenade in Cidomo (carriage) to get to your hotel. The rest of the program is free for you to relax and discover this small Paradise Island.

Day 8: Gili Air - Snorkeling - English Guide (B, L)

Breakfast at your hotel, then a half-day local boat trip to explore the underwater snorkeling between the three Gili, Gili Meno and Gili Trawangan Islands, a simple lunch will be provided on the boat, back to your hotel. Free program for continuation of the day.

Day 9: Gili Air - Bali (B)

Breakfast at your hotel then departure from your hotel using CIDOMO to the harbor to your boat to Bali. Arrival in Bali, you will be picked up for your transfer to your hotel near Tanjung Benoa.

Day 10: Rafting Ayung River and Tanah Lot with VW SAFARI (B, L)

Breakfast at your hotel, then pick-up by VW Safari, classic outdoor car. You will then be directly dropped off at Carangsari Village where you will start 2 hours of rafting experience that will allow you to see the inner part of Bali through one of the most important river on the island called AYUNG.

 

Your lunch will be served at the local restaurant, then continue your trip by visiting Taman Ayun Temple, a temple of the royal family of the ancient kingdom of Mengwi and the Temple Tanah Lot, one of the most famous temple of the island. The temple is located on a rock overlooking the Indian Ocean. Return to your hotel by mini van.

Day 11: Tanjung Benoa - Half Day Tour Uluwatu (B, D)

Breakfast at the hotel, then after your lunch, at 14:00, you will be accompanied by our guide to spend a half-day at Padang Padang Beach then a visit to the Uluwatu Temple will be organized. Farewell dinner at Jimbaran Bay. Enjoy a succulent seafood dinner on Jimbaran Beach, which is renowned for its fresh fish and seafood cuisine. Back to your hotel.

Day 12: Tanjung Benoa - Airport (B)

Breakfast at your hotel, free program up to the airport.
